Elite Glass Enterprises, Inc.

About Us

Born and raised in Dix Hills, New York, Jonathan Goldsmith always had an affinity for both science and art. As a student, he participated in the New York State Science Olympiad winning several Gold medals. While studying at SUNY Oneonta, he experimented with ceramics, drawing, 3-D design, woodworking, metal sculpture and welding while continuing to investigate other unique mediums. During college, Jonathan decided to try working with borosilicate glass. After watching hours of instructional videos online, he bought the basic tools and necessary gasses to set up his first makeshift bench in the basement of his home. He has been perfecting his craft ever since which includes training under some of the most elite flameworking  artists in the industry.  He has also competed nationally in flameworking competitions .

Elite Glass offers state-of-the-art ventilated work spaces, flameworking classes, private instruction and group events and it is the first business to carry an extensive, hand selected line of high-quality borosilicate glass materials and flameworking tools and supplies for beginners and seasoned artisans. Jonathan Goldsmith said, “I was tired of not being able to complete a project because I ran out of glass and had to order it online since there aren’t any boro glass retail stores nearby.” Elite Glass offers a hands-on environment where artists can inspect, select and purchase their own glass rods, tubes and other supplies so that their creativity will not be interrupted. Elite Glass also has a showroom that features hand crafted, one-of-a-kind jewelry, custom giftware as well as collaborative pieces with other artists. According to Jonathan, “the company’s goal is to build an environment for creative self-expression using a unique medium and a community of artists who can fabricate and share their creations.”
